Rice Military is a neighborhood in Houston, Texas. Its name originates from its close proximity to Camp Logan, a WWI U.S. Army training camp, as well as the Rice family who used to own the area. Beginning as a rural community, Rice Military has grown into an artistic urban center in Houston.

Rice Military Civic Club – The Rice Military Civic Club works to improve quality of life in the neighborhood by promoting residents’ welfare and bringing attention to issues impacting Rice Military. The civic club acts a mouthpiece for neighborhood in local policy and ensures residents’ safety.

Houston West Chamber of Commerce – The Houston West Chamber of Commerce strives to make Rice Military as well as the rest of West Houston a great place to live by supporting local businesses. The chamber connects local businesses with local charitable organizations and provides networking opportunities.

Memorial Elementary School – Memorial Elementary School is located in a former Red Cross building that aided the soldiers of Camp Logan from 1917 to 1919. Today, the school teaches the youth of Rice Military and its surrounding areas to be critical thinkers who are able to make responsible decisions.
