Southgate is a neighborhood in Houston, Texas. The neighborhood is named “Southgate” due to its close proximity to Rice University’s south gate. Despite being in the city, Southgate feels like a small town due to its tree-lined streets and vintage cottages.

Roberts Elementary School – Roberts Elementary School provides a rigorous curriculum that maintains relevancy and exposes the youth of Southgate and its surrounding area to a variety of different perspectives. Students are also exposed to enrichment programs, such as a fine arts education.

Houston Humane Society – The Houston Humane Society strives to end animal cruelty, abuse, and overpopulation while improving animal quality of life in Southgate and the rest of Houston. The society offers adoption services, runs an animal health clinic, and advocates about animal issues.

Southgate Foundation – The Southgate Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1991. The foundation supports women’s study centers in hopes of creating the woman leaders of the future. Their centers offer a wide variety of programs and activities, such as lectures and networking events.
