Tanglewood is a neighborhood in the western portion of Houston, Texas. It was opened up by the Farrington family in 1949 and was named after the book “Tanglewood Tales” by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Tanglewood has been home to many affluent people, including President George H. W. Bush.

Tanglewood Middle School – Tanglewood Middle School partners itself with parents and its community to provide a quality education to their students. They hope that all of their students will become caring, self-sufficient, and have a desire to continue learning throughout their lives.

Houston Jazz Festival – The Houston Jazz Festival is dedicated to providing quality music entertainment to Tanglewood and other Houston communities through jazz performances. Outside of performances, the festival also holds educational events and advocates for musical education in schools.

Tanglewood Garden Club – Formed in 1951, the Tanglewood Garden Club brings residents together for activities, events, and speakers in hopes of making a more tight-knit community. The club helps maintain Tanglewood Park, which is available to the community for all recreational needs.
